About the Junior Tigers Program

The Junior Tigers Golf Program provides a pathway for young golfers from Beginner through to Junior Cadets and finally to Junior Membership at Glenelg Golf Club.

The structured six-level program applies the motto, “A Skill, A Rule, An Etiquette” and each session completed will involve these three areas.

The Junior Tigers Golf Program offers the following programs dependent on age level and skill:

Tiger Cubs

  • Wednesdays 4:00pm to 4:45pm (10 week term)
  • Sundays 8:30am to 9:15am (10 week term)

Junior Members & Cadets

  • Junior Clinic – Sundays 9:15am to 10:15am (10 week term)

Participation Certificate:

  • Participated in term program, gained experience in most areas – Beginner level. (Can potentially stay at this level for a few terms if age and skill level are at beginner level)

Level 1 Tigers:

  • Has achieved some competency in technique at Putting, Chipping, Pitching, Full Swing.

Level 2 Tigers :

  • Has achieved some competency in technique at Putting, Chipping, Pitching, Full Swing. Shows some consistency (Routine) in approach and execution.

Level 3 Tigers:

  • Has achieved some competency in technique at Putting, Chipping, Pitching, Full Swing. Shows some consistency (Routine) in approach and execution. Has an understanding of basic rules and etiquette.

Level 4 Tigers :

  • Has achieved competency in technique at Putting, Chipping, Pitching, Full Swing. Shows some consistency (Routine) in approach and execution. Can control distance in Putting, Chipping and Pitching. Has an understanding of basic rules and etiquette.

 Level 5 Tigers :

  • Has achieved competency in technique at Putting, Chipping, Pitching, Bunker Play & Full Swing. Shows consistency (Routine) in approach and execution. Can control distance in Putting, Chipping and Pitching. Has an understanding of basic rules and etiquette.

Level 6 Tigers (Cadet Level):

  • Has achieved competency in technique at Putting, Chipping, Pitching, Bunker Play & Full Swing. Shows consistency (Routine) in approach and execution. Can control distance in Putting, Chipping and Pitching.  Shows some skill at shot selection decision making and execution. Is ready to play the main course on forward tees. Has an understanding of basic rules and etiquette.
