Junior Tigers Program – Term 4 Review
Term 4 saw the introduction of the Golf Australia My Golf program. It proved to be a huge success, with 61 registered participants in the Junior Tigers Golf program. I thank you for using the online registration process.
With the increase of numbers, an extra group was added for the Tiger Cubs on Sunday mornings.
Term 4’s weather on Wednesday nights was a little hit and miss, with one session changed to a double session due to lightning and one hot session.
The children did a fantastic job in adapting to the new games that were implemented, with more emphasis on the scoring component of the game. We see this as a very important learning tool for the golfers of the future.
All scores will be kept and collated to track improvements throughout the term and also the year.
The Glenelg Golf Club has seen great success with its junior members this year. 16 year old Lachlan Barker won the SA Amateur Championship and Jack Tanner became the youngest ever Glenelg Golf Club Champion at the age of 14.
I personally would like to thank the coaches, parents and guardians that have helped out throughout the term.
Looking forward to seeing you all again for a great golfing year in 2016.
Adrian Wickstein (on behalf of all the coaches at the Glenelg Golf Club)
