Kuys siblings take out State & Club Mixed Foursomes Championships

Brother and sister duo, Marcus and Shakira Kuys have taken out the 2016 Golf SA Mixed Foursomes Championship and Club Mixed Foursomes Championship played at Glenelg in December.

The siblings, who hail from Port Augusta, defeated defending champions, Mark McDonald and Elysia Yap, in a thrilling 2-hole sudden death playoff after both pairings tied with rounds of 80.

Down the first sudden death hole, the par 5 18th, the defending champions looked to have the result in the bag with a near perfect par, but it was Shakira who then stole the show, rolling in a 10 foot downhill right-to-left slider to force the playoff into its second hole, much to the delight of the near 50 person crowd cheering on the clubhouse balcony.

Not to be out done by his little sister, and after finding the back left greenside mounds for two, Marcus casually stood up to his shot and showing little sign of any nerves, chipped it in for the birdie and the title.
